You Are Invited To a Party!!!

Come on over!!!! I’m throwing a party today and EVERYBODY is invited!!!

This is not your usual, run-of-the-mill-party. This is a very special party!

Have you noticed? It’s hotter than hades out there.

So I decided to throw a………

Christmas In July Party

e

The theme of our party today is “Cooling Off.”

So first we need some cool fun activities, like this one:

Snow.

Let’s go back in time and relive those fun-filled snow days.www

Brings back such memories it brings a tear my eye, it do!!!!

Song.

Don’t be shy….Sing along with The Muppets……..You know the words:

Oh the weather outside is…….wwwww

Oooooppppppss! OK, so that didn’t work out so well. Sorry for that technical difficulty. We’ll get back to song in a bit.

So let’s move on.

Party Game#2
Dodge Car

Here’s a great Christmas in July Party game. We never get to play this in the summer time. I miss this game so much!

                                   ww

And of course, its not a ParTay without some cool food and drinks:

On the Menu Today

To cool you off ice cold drinks: Old Fashioned Home Made Lemonade

Help yourself to a glass, my friend. It will cool you down.

No Cook Soup: Hungarian Cold Cherry Soup

This soup is also designed to cool you down and chase those summertime blues away!

Refreshing Fruits: Grilled Peaches with Blackberry Basil Butter

Just thinking of peaches makes me feel good…….but basil & blackberry too!!! Well I am just in heaven.

Ice Cream Pie: Sly Lemon Pie

Even if the heat persists past dinner time this ice cream pie will cool you down again.

So there you have it. A day worth of cool down recipes.

Before our Party ends though just one more game:

Party Game#3
20 Questions

Well, its really only one question:

Now that you have been reminded of winter, which extreme weather do you prefer? Winter Extremes? Or Summer Extremes?

Leave your thoughts in the Comment Section below.

I had a great time today at our little party. Hope you did too!!!!

And I hope you are feeling a lot cooler now.

Bon appétit.

Quote of the Day

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.

  • Looking at those photos makes me colder than I was before I clicked to visit 🙂 I’ll take warm please.

  • Roberta,
Thank you for your very kind words. It is people like you that inspire me to showcase all the good in this world.

    Many Thanks,

    Heidi

  • I’m all about the summer extremes. I HATE snow & ice. I will take the heat and humidity any day. At least you can still get around. Love, love, love this post my friend!

    • Roberta

I don’t care for either extreme. I lioke spring & fall best of all. Glad you could make the party. Always good to have you around.

  • I’ve only lived winters the past 3 years of my life and coming from a hot island, I’ll choose extreme winters over heat ANY DAY. Being hot is always a bother, and sure is great if you have a constant AC blowing in your face. Winter is so much better, I love the winter foods, the hot cocoa, the clothes, the scarves. I do hate having to walk anywhere in a snow storm or anything, but really, when do we ever do that? Can’t wait for a white winter somewhere far from this hot island! Thanks for the memories!

  • Bravo! I do feel cooler! Great Post!
    Thanks!

  • This is a tough one. In the winter, while I hate the cold extremes I do love to cook. When it gets too hot, I won’t even turn the oven on. I don’t like either weather extreme!!

    • Roberta

I am with you 100%. I don’t care all that much for either winter or summer. I like the milder weather of both spring & fall.
