I received the above Photo Essay in an email from a good friend of mine in Chicago. I fell in love with it immediately and knew I wanted to share it with readers of MTTD.
I did a brief internet search to try and find an author or a site that had originally published this picture essay so that I could give proper attribution.
It did not take me long to find the source of this lovely, thoughtful, and powerful Picture Essay.
It comes from a site titled: You Got to be Kiddings .
The byline is, Humor and musings from all around the Internet.
Other than that, there is no information about this blog or the person or persons who own or run it.
I did find the following in the Response Section of the One Word Essays post:
“Feel free to share. TTBOMK, nothing I publish is copyrighted. I do my level best to make sure that nothing I publish has a copyright on it. I try to honor the copyright of all those who have marked their work as such.”
If you like to laugh and like good humor you really should go check this blog out. It is hilarious every single day.
I seldom subscribe to other blogs cause I just get way too many emails clogging up my email In-Box. So these days I am very cautious what I sign up for. You Got To Be Kiddings is only one of three subscriptions I am currently signed up for.
It is that good.
Featured Recipe Peach Basil Sauce Over Raspberry Sorbet
The peaches this year have been super sweet. The sweetest I ever remember. I knew when I made some Blackberry Butter about a week ago. First clue was how easy the peach cut in half. Then the pit practically popped out of the peach on its own.
Today’s peaches were just as ripe. They are SO sweet they need no sugar what-so-ever. None.
This recipe is like Apple Sauce. You can use it as a side dish or spread over pork chops or anything you want.
Today I am using it as a topping for ice cream…….or more precisely sorbet.
Since I made the sauce with wine and basil it has a slight tartness to it. So it is perfect paired with sweet raspberry sorbet.
This is what you will need for 4 servings:
3 peaches
3-4 basil leaves*
¼ cup sweet white wine**
Sorbet or ice cream of your choice
Optional: Crushed pistachios
* Use other flavor that you might like: vanilla, cinnamon, other
** Can substitute grape juice, peach juice, or other juice
Here is what you do:
Wash the peaches. Dice 2 of them.
Place the diced peaches in a pot and add the wine and the basil.
Cook over medium high heat for about 12-15 minutes.
Remove the basil and let cool completely.
Place the cooled peach sauce in a processor and gently process until it is a saucy consistency.
Spoon some of the sauce over some ice cream or sorbet.
Enjoy.
Bon appétit!!!
Cost
3 peaches $1.73
3-4 basil leaves $0.15
¼ cup white wine $.30
Sorbet $3.99
Opt : Pistachios $0.27
Total cost = $6.44
Cost per person = $1.61

I loved your one word essay and I am glad that it was sharable. They made me laugh, moved me and piqued my interest all the way through. One word? You betcha.
Your dessert looks wonderful. As the weather continues to get warm, I’m looking for things to cool us off.
Wonderful
Glad you liked. 🙂
I’m in awe.
You would be more in awe if you knew how much & long I struggled to get pictures and word to line up. WP it seems does not allow pictures to stack one on top of other. Had to first find, then insert code after each picture. Took me more than 3 days to accomplish correctly. Very frustrating.
But to read your and everyone’s comments today makes it all so worth while. *hugs* 🙂 🙂 🙂
Congratulations on your perseverance. Have you tried the new Gallery option for photos in WP posts? I haven’t yet but it might help.
No I haven’t. If you try before I do, let me know how it works. 🙂
That was wonderful, I reblogged and credited to your site. I appreciate the hard work you did, it’s a wonderful post.
